The Adventure Begins

Do you notice where my son is standing? Yes, on TOP of the computer tower. I was working on the computer and he was playing in the desk drawers by me. So, he pulls the top right one open, you can see it in the picture, and I hear him pulling on it. I look over just in time to see him use the drawer as leverage to climb up on the tower! He didn't even strain himself to do it or look nervous about the whole thing! I guess I am getting a glimpse of my future with an adventurous boy who likes to climb. Only next time, I am sure I won't be sitting right by him to catch him and I am sure it won't be a mere foot and a half off the ground! :-)

Aquatots

Trenton has completed 6 weeks of his swim lessons and he is already learning how to kick, dunk, climb out of the pool, and live with water in his ears! I've really enjoyed learning different principles that I can continue to teach him and work on throughout the summer. Plus, he has learned to love the water even more! Every Wednesday, Amber, Kristal, and I take the kids to aquatots, as it's called. This Wednesday, though, we coordinated so all the boys could do it together. The girls drank coffee, ate Einstein's bagels and watched; it was a blast! Trenton had so much more fun with dad. He knows dad is the goofy one and right off the bat he was laughing. It was also neat for me to see what he can do from a different vantage point. I love watching my two boys have fun together!

Trenton's NEW "fort" because saucers are for babies

I'm sure you all remember the picture of Trenton climbing under the saucer and playing like it was his own little secret hideaway . . . well, now that he's bigger, it's the shower! He loves to open the doors, climb in with some toys (or in this case my dishtowel) and shut himself in. If I can't find him, he is usually hiding in there :-) There's been a couple times where Landon and I had showered recently and then he comes out with his bottom all wet; it's so funny because you can tell where he's been!

Easter Sunday

Last year, Trenton fell asleep in his swing while Landon and I colored all the eggs. This year was a lot more fun because he was a very ACTIVE participant! Chris, Anne, Chelsea, Nathan, Grandma, and Grandpa all joined in for the festivity. There's a couple of slideshows below, but first a funny anecdote. Trenton does the silliest face and, amazingly, I captured it on camera while we were dying eggs! When he thinks something is hot, he grips his hands into little fists and bares his teeth. Most of the time when he does it, the food or item he is holding is not even hot :-)

Happy Easter!

Trip Within a Trip

At the last minute, while we were in Idaho, Pops decided to drive to Seattle for a mini vacation! We got up at 4:30am on Wednesday and didn't get back home until 12:30am on Friday. Needless to say, Landon and I still had to pack for our flight that left that day at 10am for Phoenix, but it was worth it! Seattle was so exciting, especially because Landon and I had never been there. We took the monorail from the Space Needle to downtown, walked around Pike's Place - including the original Starbucks, visited the Starbucks Corporate Support Center, toured University of Washington, watched a Mariners game, and took a harbor cruise. It was a whirlwind tour; Landon is already planning a summer trip there in 2008 because he loved the city so much and there is so much to do. We were so proud of Trenton, who handled the 4 hour car ride both ways and all the walking around the city without a nap very well. Here are some of the highlights . . .

Playing with Aunt Caitlyn in the Hotel Fountain

Pikes Place Market
The Original Starbucks' Store - Landon got a tumbler to commemorate it!

The Mariners Game at Safeco Field

Landon had to remind me that our vacation was overlapping the start of baseball; little did he know that he would be seeing the opening series for the Mariners! Unfortunately, they lost, but we still had fun at the stadium and taking pictures of Trenton at his first baseball game.

Vacation

Landon, Trenton, and I got to take a week long vacation to Idaho in the beginning of April. It was a very relaxing trip. Trenton and I had been there in December, but it had been over a year for Landon. Even in the three months since our last trip, Trenton had changed so much. Everyone had a blast playing with him, and it really made Mimi and Pops happy that after only a day he would reach for them and give them his "love pats." :-) Here are just a few pictures and memories from the trip . . .

Special Time with Great Grandma

Eating Breakfast with Mimi Every Morning
(She spoiled Trenton with danish or pop tarts
instead of the usual cheerios!)

Shopping for New Shoes with Uncle Aaron

Going to Dockside with the Family for "Gooeys" (sundaes)

We also took a day trip to Pullman and Moscow to see the two colleges. Landon loves touring different college campuses! We got to see Washington State University and University of Idaho because they are only ten minutes apart. They are both beautiful!
